Memorial ride to raise money for bike rodeo

The ride offers distances of 25, 50 and 100 miles, with the century ride kicking off at 8 a.m. There is also a free kid’s ride at 2 p.m. In addition to the rides, there will be a barbecue, door prizes and music at the Mount Pisgah Lodge. The Kiwanis Club also announced this week that it would be providing the Saranac Lake Youth Center with a bike rack to accommodate the number of kids who ride bikes to the center. The two organizations teamed up with Nori’s, which is across the street, for Nori’s to provide space for the bike rack. Nori’s co-owner Ashley Tempo said in the release that it was a win-win.“It’s of benefit to everyone,” she said. “Our customers and staff have wanted bike parking too and we’re happy to be a part of making cycling in the village more convenient.” The Kiwanis Club has been putting on the bike rodeo each June for the last 20 years. The group has given away more than 1,700 bike helmets through the event. For more information, go to www.bikeadirondacks.org/events/stratton. -- ... (The Adirondack Daily Enterprise)
